Bouncy houses, also known as jumping castles, moon bounces, and inflatable trampolines. It’s an inflatable structure specially designed for children’s entertainment, allowing a group of kids to play together.

A bounce house can provide your kids with a variety of fun activities, such as bouncing, climbing, hide-and-seek, water gun games, and so on. Its inflatable design and durable materials make it a worthwhile investment for both personal use and rental businesses.

The cost of renting a bouncy house depends on the size, design, and time length. For instance, the average cost of renting a medium-sized bounce house for 4 hours is about $200.

If you’re hosting a temporary or one-time event, renting a bounce house is a quick and money-saving option. However, if you want to reuse it for multiple activities, buying one can be a cost-efficient choice.

Bounce houses are usually made of high-standard and weatherproof materials like PVC vinyl and Oxford fabrics, which can be expensive. Some brands that feature an innovative gameplay design may set a higher price than others.

Generally, a standard bounce house under proper maintenance can last 3-5 years. However, if your bounce houses are used for commercial purposes, their lifespan may be shorter due to the frequency of use.

Normally, kids aged 3-8 years old are suitable for playing in an 8ft x 8ft bounce house. For kids above 8 years, a large-sized bounce house (10ft x 10ft or more) is a better option. 

Although most inflatable products feature an enclosed structure, they can still slightly deflate over time. The breathability of the materials, the aging of the seams, and other various factors will lead to deflation.

Small Bounce House (10ft x 10ft): Toddlers (3-8 years), 3-5 kids
Medium Bounce House (12 ft x 12ft): Kids (3-10 years), 4-7 kids
Large Bounce House (15ft x 15ft): Teens (3-12 years), 5-9 kids

The cost of inflating a bounce house can be calculated with the formula: Power x Time x Electricity Rate. For instance, if a 500-watt blower works for 5 hours, the cost of electricity would be 0.5 kW x 5 h x $0.15 (average rate in the US) = $0.375 dollars.

Normally, you can’t wear shoes in a bounce house. Not only because the hard soles may harm other participants but also because they can damage the materials, especially the shoes with pointed parts.

A tarp is a necessary addition to put under a bounce house. It can protect the bounce house from sharp debris on the ground and keep the bottom clean and dry. Some tarps can also increase the friction force of the bottom.

Most bouncy houses are only allowed for kids. The bouncy houses for adults should be large and heavy-duty enough to bear the weight of adults (at least above 15 ft x 15 ft).

Although the water slides of a bounce house are made of durable materials and have side walls, it’s necessary to make sure the house is under supervision by an adult.

Baby Shampoo: Shampoos are excellent lubricants for the slides in a bounce house. They can be easily mixed with water and are friendly to kids’ skin.
Dish Soap: Dish soap water can add a slippery layer to the slide.

Generally, an inflatable bounce house for kids aged 3-8 can bear a weight range from 100 to 300 pounds. The larger-sized bounce houses made of high-quality materials can support more weight.

Bounce houses are often made of waterproof materials, offering proper resistance against rain. However, rainwater can make the surface of the bounce house more slippery, which may increase the safety risks. We suggest you not use the bounce houses on rainy days.

If you don’t clean and dry the bounce house after use, it can grow mold over time. Make sure to store the bounce house in a cool and ventilated space to avoid the growth of mold.

If you want to leave inflatables overnight, you need to fulfill several safety measures:
1.Anchor the structure: Use wind ropes, stakes, and tighteners to anchor and strain the inflatables.
2.Make sure your inflatables are made of weather-resistant and durable materials.

The inflatable bounce house should be set up on soft ground like grass, soil, and sand. If you want to set up a bounce house on the driveway, make sure the ground is flat and put a tarp under it to prevent potential scuffing damage.
