Make the Most of Your Party Tent - Advanced Guide
I highly recommend this if you have the logistical wherewithal.
1.Quickly Understand
You can disassemble, replace, and assemble the party tent according to your needs——with 4 removable sidewalls & 2 zipper doors, whether on the beach, at a wedding venue, camping, or at a party, this party tent not only provides you with a sturdy indoor environment, but also offers flexible usage methods.
2.Reinforcement installation
Note: This is for a tent which has no central supports, and only poles around the edge. You may need to adapt this for your structure.
2.1 Roof frame
Lay fittings out in patten, then poles. in the pattern. double check that they're correct. Then insert into fittings, generally working top down. A sledge can be helpful to square things up if they don't quite close.
2.2 Stakes
Put them out at about 1/3-2/5 of the frame height from the poles, 1 per pole, 2 at corners. Mark the stakes with slit open tennis balls on the ends.
2.3 Attach trucker straps to frame
You need to have the stakes/straps in place in case the wind picks up just after you get the tarp on the frame.
2.4 Roof tarp
Unfold over the frame. Ideally you will have folded the tarp so that the last fold goes the short way over the ridge working downwind, you may need to tie a few ropes and keeping the middle of the tarp at the top ridgeline is a little tricky. Doing this in higher winds is an expert move. Do not hesitate to bail and get everyone on top of the tarp if things get out of hand windwise while you're doing the step.
Immediately attach the trucker straps to the edges of the frame. If you don't and the wind picks up, you will have a giant steel sail flying downwind.
2.5. Vertical poles, downwind long side
Loosen straps on that side. Lift downwind side, put in vertical poles. immediately put tension back on straps if there's any wind. Have one person manage and get everyone to act in unison, ideally have two people per pole 6 one to lift tall/strong and one to place. This might take 11 people. You can do it with 1 per pole plus 1 in a pinch. holding the weight and inserting the pole can be pretty tricky. people will tend to not hold them high enough and make it hard for the last person to get the pole in.
2.6. Sides
Leave a couple open so that you get airflow.
2.7. Keep it safe
Tighten the trucker straps at 6, 12, 24 hours and check daily. Do not skip staking it down and strapping it down thoroughly immediately at setup. You never know when the wind is going to pick up.
3.Safety&Planning
Like any tent, make sure you figure out how to set this thing up before you get to the playa. Make sure two people know how in case one person gets sick. Have a laminated sheet or some other instructions stored with the tent so that really anyone could do it. if they can find that card. It is possible to hurt someone with one of these things, you need to make sure that you have all the instructions so that anyone who tries it is fully empowered to keep from hurting people downwind. I'm not kidding. You could really hurt someone with 500 lb. of steel and a 1500 square foot sail.
End of all
For maximum luxury, Have a roll out linoleum floor. :)
Be sure you know where you're going to store this each year.
There you go. That's a brain dump on how to do this. If you have any questions feel free to give me a shout.
